Mission:
Recognizing the right of all persons to live their lives without fear of violence, the Family Center strives to break the cycle of family violence through intervention, education and counseling.
Services:
The Family Center is a safe shelter for victims of domestic abuse and their children. Services besides shelter include counseling, transitional assistance, legal advocacy and referral, positive parenting suggestion, and household supplies and food needs. The Family Center also offers counseling and referrals to non-shelter victims, as well as outreach to schools and other agencies. There are no fees for our services.
The Family Visitation Center, located within the Family Center, is a facility that provides a secure environment for court-ordered supervised visitations and shared custody exchanges between parents and/or guardians.
The Family Center’s Wish List:
Our needs change periodically, dependent on the flow of clients in the shelter. Items most needed are ‘consumables’ – food of all kinds, coffee, furniture, small appliances, diapers, cleaning products, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap(“HE” type preferred), paper products, copy paper and office supplies.
