Mission:
The WRPS Endowment Fund - A Fund for Educational Excellence - represents a community-based effort to provide supplemental funding to enrich the academic, cultural, athletic, and overall experience of students and staff, and to encourage, recognize and reward educational creativity and innovation in the pursuit of excellence in education in the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools.
Services:
The WRPS Endowment Fund - A Fund for Educational Excellence - is administered and invested by Community Foundation of South Wood County. Contributions are tax deductible to the limit allowed by law and are used to support academic, cultural, athletic and overall activities in the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools. A 12 member, volunteer Board of Trustees, oversees the Fund. The WRPS Endowment Fund is built by gifts from people like you investing in the future of our youth. Many worthwhile projects cannot be funded by tax sources, so this fund supports quality programs and activities that enhance students’ educational experiences beyond the basic curriculum. Each year, staff of the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools are invited and encouraged to write grant proposals for enrichment of the educational curriculum. The proposals are reviewed by a committee and recommendations are reviewed and approved by the full Board. Upon approval, funds are directed to staff members for implementation of their project. Beginning with the fall of 2003, the Fund has awarded $9,730 in mini-grants to WRPS staff members.

Table at the Annual Meeting of the Community Foundation in early August.
Table at the all-staff inservice day for the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools in late August.
Booth at the Downtown Grand Affair in late September.
Twice we have successfully hosted the UW-Madison Marching Band as a fundraising event.
