Mission:
To inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their fullest potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Services:
The BGC serves more than 1,300 local youth annually. We provide programs that utilize a youth development strategy to provide our members with a sense of Competence, Usefulness, Belonging, Power & Influence. We strive to instill character development through positive adult role models, who are professionally trained youth development staff. Our programs include: Character and LeadershipDevelopment, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, the Arts and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. Our Clubs each have a Technology Center, gymnasium, arts & crafts room, games room, and meeting areas for kids. We also provide outdoor activities when the weather permits. During the school year, there are two hours of homework assistance available daily. The Boys & Girls Club of Wisconsin Rapids is the finest program for children available, and we are there when Mom and Dad can't be ... when school is out and they are still at work! We are affiliated with over 4000 Clubs nationawide through the Boys & Girls Club of America, which provides us with the finest in training, program materials and methodology to help us to be The Positive Place for Kids!
Boys & Girls Club’s Wish List:
Paper plates, plastic forks, spoons, napkins, healthy snacks, musical instruments, craft supplies (beads, glue, scissors, craft paints, yarn, ribbon, markers, felt, feathers, paint brushes, crayons, craft kits, etc.), Office & Program supplies (paper, folders, binders, markers, pens, pencils), board games, pool cues, sports equipment, outdoor games equipment, playing cards, carpet remnants. Volunteer music teachers, dance teachers, sports teachers, etc.
