What is a 501 (c)(3) designated organization?
A 501(c) (3) organization has applied for and received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service recognizing them as a legitimate charity for federal tax purposes.

Nekoosa, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Rudolph, Rome, Vesper, and the Wisconsin Rapids area which includes Biron, Grand Rapids and surrounding townships.

What grant amounts are available?
There is a wide range in the grant amounts awarded. Typically, the maximum grant award is $10,000, and $3,000 is the average grant award.
How and when can I apply for a competitive grant?
Specific information can be found under our Grant Guidelines. Applications for over $1,000 are accepted from nonprofit organizations during our quarterly grant cycles. Applications for $1,000 or less will be accepted at any time.
Once a grant proposal is submitted to CFGSWC, how long does it take to go through the approval process to receive funding?
The time from grant deadline to grant approval is typically one month. Once the grant is approved, and appropriate forms are returned to CFGSWC, it takes up to ten days to receive the grant distribution check. Release of the check is triggered by returning the signed Grant Agreement and a formal request that the funds be released.
How can we inform CFGSWC donors of our nonprofit’s needs?
CFGSWC shares information from grant applications with donors on a quarterly basis, and grant applicants are informed of any donor-advised grants as part of our grant cycle. Most donor-advised grants are small, in the $100 to $1,000 range.
