We promote strategic philanthropy, build social capital, and leverage community resources for the common good. We envision a resilient, thriving community that embraces and supports all of its citizens.
The Community Foundation believes:
• A focus on inclusiveness, respect, and social justice leads to greater awareness of systemic inequities and provides a forum for civil and open discussion about what's needed to improve social outcomes
• Transparency, integrity, and trust are achieved when there is full disclosure of information, data, and action
• Courage and leadership are demonstrated through prudent risk taking
• Responsible stewardship of resources honors intent and advances institutional purpose • The greater good is served when there is collaborative, collective action

The Community Foundation serves communities in southern Wood County, WI and the Town of Rome in northern Adams County. This includes: Wisconsin Rapids; Biron; Grand Rapids; Nekoosa; Port Edwards; Rudolph; Vesper; Pittsville; and Town of Rome/Lakes Area.
The Community Foundation of Greater South Wood County operates in compliance with the National Standards for Community Foundations as set forth by the Council on Foundations. Evaluated and determined by a rigorous peer review process, it is one of only thirteen accredited community foundations in the state of Wisconsin.
